Introduction

The Online Help is designed to serve as an easy reference for users and developers using SmartWare applications. This material covers a large number of frequently used commands and approaches used in SmartWare and in the individual modules.

SmartWare

SmartWare is comprised of four primary modules

Smart Communication

Smart Database
Smart Spreadsheet
Smart Word Processor

These four modules share a  number of similar features and behaviors. All modules are serviced by an underlying System.

For the developer the major divisions are

Project Processing,

Command Reference, and

Functions.

The On Line Help hopes to replicate the structure of the Smartware product itself.

Using On Error

In the use of the product there is an option to investigate an error number.  If the user or developer receives an error there may be an error number in that message.  That error number can be use with the On Error option to determine the exact source of the error.

Using the F1 Key  and Help File

In the use of the product, the help file can be access with the use of the F1 key.  The help file opens to the section pertaining to subject that the cursor is on.  Content sensitive help is available for many of the new properties and features of Visual SmartWare.

Documentation from the Install Media

The installation media (CD or Downloaded) may include a set of documents in media itself. One of the installation options is the installation of the documentation. If this installation option is completed the documentation  is placed in a folder named DOCS. The folder called DOCS is located inside of the folder where SmartWare was installed.
